Culture & Technology: before_now_next
Anne Balsamo established 7 MOONS MEDIA STUDIOS in 2025 as an experimental space for the collusion between the old and the new, the vintage and the emergent, the archive and the future.
It is a space for thought-provoking exhibits, creative workshops, and media art experiences
Anne’s work takes shape across creative domains — academia, corporate research, start-up enterprises, cultural activism, and the design of public interactives.

Her personal collection of vintage media devices includes early generations of Apple computers, 20th century sound machines, mod analog televisions, and groovy radios.
She holds an archive of 20th century magazines, pulp novels, cyberpunk films, and mid-century ephemera that provides the cultural context for the legacy devices in the collection.
As an artist, she creates mixed media sculptures using analog televisions and remixed visual media.
She directs two labs at the University of Texas at Dallas.
